Stage 1 · Consultation
What you want and what your hair allows.
Four services, all starting with a consultation.
Bring the photo — it tells us what you like. Then we will say honestly whether your hair texture, density and hairline will do that, and what gets closest. Two minutes of that conversation is the difference between a good cut and an awkward month.
What you want and what your hair allows.
Length and shape settled first.
Checked with you as we go.
How to keep it, and when to return.
Growth pattern and shrinkage.
What will hold without daily work.
So the shape is the shape.
Only what you actually need.
Curly and Afro hair behaves differently wet and dry, so cutting it wet means guessing at the finished shape. We cut dry, work with the growth pattern and shrinkage rather than against them, and we will not sell you a shape that needs daily work to hold.
A beard line cut too high looks sharp today and wrong in a fortnight, so we set it where growing out stays tidy. Blades are single use, every time. Tell us about skin conditions, cold sores, recent facial treatments or blood thinners first — sometimes the answer is not today.
Skin, conditions and medication.
Lines set to grow out well.
Fresh single-use blade.
Cooled, soothed and checked.
At least 48 hours beforehand.
Previous colour, henna or bleach.
One visit, or more than one.
What to use and what to avoid.
The patch test is not a formality. Reactions to colour can be severe and can develop in people who have had it done for years, so we will decline a service where the test is out of date — which occasionally annoys people and is not negotiable.
Book a chair, or walk in and we will fit you in when one is free.
